It seems the subjects we have been given for this 52 week project have kind of fallen into my lap each week. (Here’s hoping saying that out loud doesn’t throw everything off!) From a newborn baby in the first week (see “New” here), to a fifteen year old note (see last week’s post here), and every one in between, I have been thrilled with the opportunities I have had to photograph great subjects for each theme. But with this week in mind, I have been searching my house for shiny objects from the moment last week’s post went up. And I wasn’t finding much of interest.
Then Tuesday morning I went to visit a friend. I had a few minutes before I needed to be there, so I thought I’d clean and vaccuum out my car at a local car wash. Unfortunately for me, when I finished up, my car battery refused to start up, leaving me stranded. Lovely. Lucky for me, another friend had planned to meet up with us, so I called her, and she graciously stopped by and picked me up. Knowing we could grab some cables and deal with my car when we got back, I made my way to the passenger side of her car. That’s when I saw the theme. There on the front seat sat a pair of shiny, silver pom poms!
Turns out her second daughter L has a closet-full of glittery things. Right down to a pair of tights COMPLETELY covered in shiny black sequins. Oh, to be a six-year-old girl! I was ecstatic. Long story short, we made plans for a mini session at her home later that night, and had a great time! L was such a sweetheart, showing off some of her most sparkly clothes, and of course, the cheerleading poms. Thanks L for being my model. I loved every minute!
Don’t forget to check out all of the talented photographers in the 52 Fridays circle! Up next is the one-and-only Amy Ames, Holly Springs, NC Photographer, so don’t miss out!
And just because she is so darn cute, here is another one just for fun.

A fun photograph. Great interpretation of this week’s theme.
Super fun interpretation of Shiny!
She is adorable! Love the pigtails! And, those pom-poms are so perfect for the theme!
Love how you caught her excitement!
Your caught the shine of those pom-poms perfectly! I love the shine in her eyes in your second shot as well.
